Throughout history women put their heads, hearts, hands, creativity and care into sewing. Women have been meeting in church groups for prayer and mission for centuries. Women made quilts for those in need and for church fund raising. Bible Quilts of Biblical blocks have also been a way to study scripture. These women's group activities continue to this day.
The Piecemaker Quilting group is part of the West Michigan Quilters’ Guild. We meet at Wyoming Park United Methodist Church most Saturdays to share our love of fabric, piecing and quilting along with socializing. The group provides baptism quilts for our newest members and their families, prayer quilts for those in need of the warmth of care and concern and other project quilts for a variety of missions, including touch quilts and holiday warmth quilts for UCOM.
