We build capacity by teaching and coaching our members to serve.
Rev. Bill Johnson was appointed to
WPUMC in July, 1996. He loves leading worship, pastoral care, teaching and
coaching our leaders, paid and unpaid. His dream is for a church of members who
shepherd each other in groups of 3-10 people, who strengthen each other to
better serve our neighbors. Sunday mornings are family reunions, where we
connect with God and each other, and fuel up for serving the world where God
has placed us. His life scripture is Isaiah 40:31, "but those who wait for
the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like
eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
If you want to know his vision for
Wyoming Park, come to worship. If you want to talk baseball, he'll drop what
he's doing. If you want to know who keeps him alive, meet his family.
" It's been my pleasure to direct our contemporary vocal music group, David's Harp for over ten years at the Park. We rehearse in the sanctuary each Wednesday night at 7 pm, and new members are welcome! The ability to read music is helpful but not necessary---We'll teach you! The fellowship and fun in our group is what matters, and we love being part of the rich worship experience at WPUMC."
